Myofacial release:

Sometimes traditional therapies just aren’t enough. There are many conditions that can, unfortunately, result in significant stiffness, muscle tension, or build-up of scar tissue. For advanced swallowing and neurological disorders; post-radiation cancer patients; or severe tension-related voice disorders, myofascial release might just be what you need to help you meet your goals. Myofacial release is a hands-on technique that works to relax, lengthen and realign your fascia, working to relieve pain and increase range of motion.

Prompt therapy:

For advanced motor speech disorders, we have several therapists trained in PROMT therapy techniques. PROMPT therapy involves a speech-language pathologist manually guiding a patient’s articulators (i.e., jaw, lips, vocal folds, and tongue) by using specially trained touch cues. Using this technique, therapists are able to shape and support the proper movements of the articulators. This technique has been shown to increase positive outcomes in even the most severe cases.

Smart palate:

For severe or persistent articulation disorders, phonological disorders, apraxia, and dysarthria we offer the latest in technological interventions. The Smart Palate system allows our patients to see what their tongue is doing in real-time, allowing them to accurately find correct placements and remediate errors. This technology has been particularly helpful in assisting patients with sound errors where proper placements are difficult to visualize, such as /r/ or /s/ by allowing them to see exactly where their tongue is and where it needs to be. If traditional therapy methods are coming up short, the smart palate system might be just what you need.
